Abstract
We present a computer simulation study of the influence of dipolar interact ions on the formation of mesophases, We have chosen the so-called Gay-Berne potential with longitudinal dipole-dipole interactions. The phase transiti ons are determined with isothermal-isobaric (NPT) Monte Carlo simulation, u tilizing the reaction field method. Central and terminal dipoles have been considered in the simulations. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights re served.
