Abstract
We report the first instance of the levelling of oximate reactivity in a de protonation process, which is shown to have as origin the desolvation of th e oximate ion prior to actual proton transfer, in accord with the large pre dominance of the work term (w(r)) far exceeding the intrinsic barrier term in the Marcus formulation.
