Abstract
(+/-)-gamma-Lycorane has been synthesized in ten steps from piperonylic alc ohol. Two radical reactions were used successively to build the D and B rin gs. A formal synthesis of (+)-gamma-lycorane was achieved via an optically active unsaturated aldehyde intermediate.
