Abstract
A 5-MCi laboratory source of antineutrinos on the basis of the long-li ved isotope Pm-147 is proposed for experiments probing the fundamental properties of the (anti)neutrino. The detector to be placed in a deep -underground laboratory may be constructed of active elements with low noise and low threshold. In such an experiment, the cross section for elastic antineutrino-electron scattering may be measured to a precisi on of about 1%, and an upper limit of about 5 x 10(-12)mu B may be imp osed on the anomalous magnetic moment of the neutrino.
