Abstract
The inclusive characteristics of three-pion systems diffractively prod uced on nucleon and nuclear targets are investigated, The reactions un der study are induced by charged pions with momenta near 4 GeV/c. The penetrability (transparency) of the nucleus for the leading particle i s found to vary with the Feynman variable x(F) and with the effective mass of the emitted three-pion system.
