Abstract
The molecular understanding of cytokine signaling has recently advanced due to new information on knockout animals and patients with mutations, as wel l as the discovery of inhibitory proteins. Here, Martin Aringer, David M. F rucht, and John J, O'Shea discuss the developments, focusing on the recepto rs for interferon-gamma, IL-2, IL-4, and IL-12.
