Dynamical symmetry breaking and the dynamical generation of fermion ma
ss is investigated in two-dimensional nonlocal gravity interacting wit
h fermions. The Dyson-Schwinger equations for the fermion propagator a
re obtained in the ladder approximation, and numerical solutions to th
ese equations are found at various values of the curvature and couplin
g constant. It is shown that the dynamical breakdown of chiral symmetr
y and the dynamical generation of fermion mass are possible. The most
popular gauges are studied, and the dependence of results on the choic
e of gauge is briefly discussed.
