Abstract
This paper presents a semi-analytic procedure for obtaining solutions of co ntaminant migration from a deeply buried cylindrical source surrounded by a pproximately annular zones of material where each of these zones is homogen eous with its own set of properties. The solution technique involves the us e of Laplace transform to eliminate the time derivative of the advection-di spersion equation governing contaminant transport. Solutions are found in t he Laplace transform space and inverted numerically using an efficient inve rsion algorithm due to Talbot(1) to obtain the concentrations in real space and time.
