Abstract
The effects of Co powder of different particle size and Co suboxide (Co1-xO , 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2), used as additives to the negative electrode, on battery cycle life were investigated. The study shows that the addition of finer Co powder or Co1+xO has a significant effe ct on improving the cycle life of the Ni-MH battery. In addition, the oxida tion resistance of the MH negative electrode increases and the charging eff iciency of the cell is enhanced. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science S.A . All rights reserved.
