Abstract
A model kinetic equation is constructed that describes both qualitativ ely and quantitatively the main features of anomalous particle transpo rt in fluid flow, by travelling waves. The equation is based on the tr avelling wave map model of Weiss (Phys. Fluids A 3 (1991) 1379) but re sults obtained here can be readily generalised to other models.
