Abstract
An integrable differential-difference system is proposed which is an extend ed form of the integrable differential-difference equation found by Hu and Wu (1998 Phys. Lett. A 246 523-9). It is shown that this extended different ial-difference system is integrable in the sense of having a Backlund trans formation and a Lax pair.
