Abstract
A setup with two dissolved oxygen sensors for on-line measurement of the ox ygen uptake rate in an aerobic microbial fermentation system was developed. An external loop with two dissolved oxygen sensors was linked to the ferme nter. A gas-liquid separator was designed and installed in front of the dis solved oxygen sensors. The oxygen uptake rate was determined from the measu red data of the dissolved oxygen without using gas analyzers.
