Oi. Shvets et al., Cardiac troponin I in patients with myocardial infarction. Time course of its content in blood and relation to the volume of necrosis, KARDIOLOGIY, 39(9), 1999, pp. 53-56
Dynamics of cardiac troponin I was compared with those of creatine kinase,
lactate dehydrogenase and aspartate aminotransferase in 25 patients with Q-
wave and 25 - with non-Q-wave myocardial infarction. Blood levels of tropon
in were correlated with location of infarction and volume of myocardial nec
rosis. Concentration of troponin I was elevated in all patients. This eleva
tion became obvious in several hours after onset of infarction (not later t
han in 5-6 hours) and persisted for 4-12 days (mean 8-9 days). The level of
troponin in blood serum depended on the volume of necrosis.
