Abstract
Activity of dopa decarboxylase (DDC) in two Drosophila virilis lines d iffering in dopamine (DA) content was investigated. The activity was s hown to be significantly higher in flies with lower DA content. A poss ible reason for this phenomenon is discussed. Genetic analysis of the difference showed that DDC activity in Drosophila virilis is controlle d by a single autosomal gene (or a cluster of tightly linked genes).
