The addition of as-synthesized UTD-1 seeds to an SSZ-24 synthesis mixture a
ccelerates the zeolite nucleation and leads to the formation of pure and we
ll-crystallized SSZ-24. Computer modeling showed that the (001) cleavage pl
ane in the UTD-1 framework fits perfectly to the (110) in the SSZ-24 struct
ure. Subunits extracted from the (001) plane and stabilized by the bis-(pen
tamethylcyclopentadienyl) cobalt(III) complex may be viable precursors for
