Abstract
This study deals with the hydrothermal synthesis of highly ordered MCM-41 a nd B-MCM-41. Four techniques for the generation of MCM-41 were compared: th ermal treatment in polypropylene vessels, in static autoclaves, in a stirre d autoclave in ovens, and in microwave reactors heated with microwave radia tion. The formation process of MCM-41 and the condensation of the framework were monitored by X-ray diffraction. The high periodicity of the materials was detected with X-ray powder diffraction and transmission electron micro scopy. Highly ordered samples showing reflections up to sixth order in the selected area electron diffraction were produced. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
