NEUES JAHRBUCH FUR GEOLOGIE UND PALAONTOLOGIE-MONATSHEFTE
A short review is given on the syncarids from the Stephanian D of the Saar-
Nahe-Basin. Uronectes palatinus n. sp. and Spinocaris horribilis n. g. n. s
p. are described as new species of syncarids. Unidentified syncarids from t
hree localities are discussed to show that it is not possible to determine
all remains of syncarids at the moment. It is shown that at least some rema
ins of syncarids from the Saar-Nahe-Basin can be interpreted as exuviae. Fo
r Uronectes fimbriatus a possible sexual dimorphism is pointed out and base
d on this the ecological interpretation of these syncarids is discussed.
