Abstract
The prompt photon production in (p) over right arrow (p) over right arrow c ollisions at high energies is studied. The double-spin asymmetry A(LL) of t he process is calculated by using the Monte Carlo code SPHINX. A possibilit y to discriminate the spin-dependent gluon distributions and to determine t he sign of Delta G is discussed. A detailed study of the expected backgroun d, such as pi(0) production and decay, is given. Predictions for the longit udinal asymmetry A(LL) of the prompt photons and pi(0)-meson production in the (p) over right arrow (p) over right arrow collisions at RHIC energies h ave been made.
