Results of integrated analysis of seismic and gravity data from the Okhotsk
Sea are presented. The areas with different type of the earth's crust (con
tinental, subcontinental and suboceanic) are briefly outlined. New map of f
ree-air gravity anomalies with 10 mGal contour interval has been constructe
d on the basis of satellite altimetry data. A comparison of shipboard and s
atellite measurement results has shown that the satellite-derived map descr
ibes the Okhotsk Sea anomalous gravity field more comprehensively than form
erly published shipboard-derived maps. The seismo-gravity modeling was exec
uted for several transects across the major tectonic structures on the basi
s of seismic cross-sections and satellite-derived gravity data. The modelin
g results are illustrated by the example of transect extending from the Sak
halin to South Kuril across the deep-sea Kuril Basin with suboceanic type o
f the earth's crust. The modeling has allowed to refine the deep structure
and construct two-dimensional density models of the earth's crust and upper
most mantle.
