The principles of observation of a steady-state interference pattern for th
e 2S and 2P levels of hydrogen-like He+ in a uniform electric field are for
mulated. A new method for measuring the Lamb shift delta(n=2) = 2S - 2P bas
ed on the utilization of the method of atomic interferometer is proposed. Q
uantum-electrodynamic consequences that follow from comparing the results o
f interferometric measurements and quantum-electrodynamic calculations of t
he Lamb shift in He+ are discussed.
