The light-induced change of refractive index (phase response) of bichromoph
ore consisting of complex organic molecules with efficient electronic excit
ation energy transfer between them (the donor-acceptor model) is theoretica
lly studied. It is shown that the region where donor emission bands overlap
with acceptor absorption bands is nonmonotonically dependent on the bichro
mophore phase response on the intensity of exciting radiation. A system is
proposed for dynamic recording of light fields at the donor absorption freq
uency, which uses a pulse at the acceptor emission frequency that fixes the
changes.
