Abstract
The light emission spectra of GaInN multiple quantum well lasers and wavegu ide:loss spectra were studied,under pulsed current injection below threshol d using a novel:measurement technique. We found some lasers with high thres hold current having two light emission peaks, which correspond to two absor ption mechanisms, while low threshold lasers have a single:light emission p eak. Control of the second light emission peak and absorption process is on e of the keys to improving the laser performance.
