Abstract
In domestic females, uterine involution duration is mainly determined by th e associated inflammatory reaction intensity in regard to the type of place ntation. In female with diffused epitheliochorial placentation (mare and so w), uterine involution is fast (2 to 3 weeks) and involves early and intens e uterine contractions and tissular reorganization. In female with cotyledo nary epitheliochorial placentation (ewe, goat, cow), uterine involution has an average duration of 4 to 5 weeks and involves in addition intense vasoc onstriction and a blood redistribution to the udder. In female with zonary endotheliochorial placentation (domestic carnivorous), uterine involution i s prolonged (10 to 12 weeks) and caracterized by a late tissular regenerati on. In dromedary, uterine involution needs 6 to 7 weeks in despite of a dif fused epitheliochorial placentation and is associated with subacute inflamm atory reaction.
