Gm. Larin, Development of EPR spectroscopy of the d-element coordination compounds inthe Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry RAS, RUSS J C CH, 25(11), 1999, pp. 750-757
The results of EPR studies are reported for the d-element coordination comp
ounds containing at least one chelate ligand. The following problems are di
scussed: the influence of various factors such as the composition of coordi
nation sphere, geometric structure, and distant substituents at the chelate
ligands on the character of metal-ligand bond; hyperfine structure from th
e central metal atoms and ligand atoms; electron delocalization in molecule
s; specific features of the ore-ion complexation with chelating ligands; in
fluence of the low-symmetry distortions of chelate group on the parameters
of spin Hamiltonian and rotational isomerism; stabilization of the unusual
oxidation states of metal atom in coordination compounds; exchange interact
ions in cluster compounds; cis and trans isomerism in the second coordinati
on sphere of the copper(II) complexes with hydroxamic acids and anomalous l
ine broadening in the EPR spectra of paramagnetic compounds in the presence
of singlet dioxygen.
