Ig. Zaitseva et al., Effect of sodium acetylacetonate on the transition of scandium and lutecium acetylacetonates to the gas phase, RUSS J C CH, 25(11), 1999, pp. 811-815
It was shown by preparative chemistry, IR spectroscopy X-ray powder diffrac
tion and thermal analyses, and vacuum sublimation that the reaction of sodi
um acetylacetonate monohydrate with tris(acetylacetonato)lutecium results i
n the formation of tetrakis(acetylacetonate) NaLu(Acac)(4), which is capabl
e of subliming congruently in vacuo. This effect is not observed in the sys
tem with scandium. The sublimation of sodium acetylacetonate as a constitue
nt of the lutecium tetrakis complex can be regarded as a synergism, because
sodium acetylacetonate itself is nonvolatile.
