Abstract
Coordination compounds [Tb(x)Ln(1-x)(Phen)(2)Acac(NO3)(2)] . H2O (Ln = Eu, La, Gd, Pr, Ce, or Dy; Acac = acetylacetonate ion; and Phen = 1,10-phenanth roline) were synthesized and studied by IR and emission spectroscopies. The compounds exhibit thermoluminescent properties. The introduction of coacti vator ions reduces thermoluminescence intensity of Tb3+. The ions with vari able valency suppress thermoluminescence to the greatest extent.
