The place of high-temperature electrochemical synthesis among other methods
of boride production is considered. Various electrosynthesis techniques ar
e discussed, along with their advantages and drawbacks. The electrode proce
sses and the structure of cathodic deposits obtained in the boride synthese
s are considered. A conclusion is drawn that the electrochemical synthesis
is promising in manufacturing single crystals, plating complex-configuratio
n workpieces, and producing disperse boride powders of high purity. Directi
ons for further research are suggested.
