Abstract
Complete and reduced Gibbs function metrics were used to derive stability c riteria for an n-component heterogeneous complex of r phases in complete an d reduced concentration spaces. The dimension of the positive definite mine rs of the matrix of the second Gibbs energy derivatives with respect to the heterogeneous complex composition was shown to equal the number of the the rmodynamic degrees of freedom of this heterogeneous complex.
