The solubilities of eleven Zn complexes of 5,15-disubstituted octaalkylporp
hyrins with aryl and alkyl substituents of various natures were measured in
benzene, ethanol, and propanol at 298 K. The solubilities of the correspon
ding metal-free porphyrins in these solvents were determined by us earlier.
The effect of Zn(II) coordination on the solubilities of 5,15-disubstitute
d porphyrins was found to substantially depend on the nature of the substit
uents.
