Maternal steroid hormones play a critical role in establishing the receptiv
e phase of implantation. In addition to that, the embryo is able to modulat
e endometrial molecules during the apposition phase (chemokines) and the ad
hesion phase (adhesion and anti-adhesion molecules). Moreover, the human em
bryo also exerts a coordinated regulation of endometrial epithelial apoptos
is during these implantation phases. In this work, we analyze the embryonic
regulation of implantation in humans using an in vitro model.
