Solid state preparation of the (8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum(III) complexfrom aluminum isopropoxide and 8-hydroxyquinoline

A new alternate method is described for the preparation of the (8-hydroxyqu inolinato)aluminum(III) complex in the solid state from aluminum isopropoxi de, The complex was characterised by IR spectra, elemental analyses and X-r ay spectroscopy using a compact X-ray diffraction analyser. The light yello w complex prepared in the solid state has an identical structure with the o ne prepared by the wet method.
