Abstract
A freshly-cleaved solution-grown CdI2 single crystal shows spatially-extend ed linear steps, ditch-like troughs and spiral-like islands in its topograp hy. Long-term exposure in ambient air modifies the material topography into nano-scaled craters and nested protrusions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. Ail rights reserved.
