Iv. Anan'Ev et Vn. Obridko, Studies of the rotation periods of photospheric magnetic fields in the 20th-22nd solar cycles, ASTRON REP, 43(12), 1999, pp. 831-837
The rotation periods of solar photospheric magnetic fields are studied as a
function of heliolatitude by performing discrete Fourier expansions of syn
optic maps from 1964-1994. Observational data from the Mount Wilson, Kitt P
eak, and Stanford Observatories are used. Discrete rotation modes and the h
eliolatitude regions where they appeared in the 20th-22nd cycles are discus
sed, as well as their variations with solar-cycle phase.
