Abstract
D-Galactose diethyl dithioacetal can be oxidized with m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid to produce the previously described highly crystalline bis(ethylsulfo ne), the structure of which has now been confirmed by nuclear magnetic reso nance spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
