Abstract
Three main structural and sedimentary provinces characterize the Nile Cone. A western domain shows a network of tightly meandering distributary channe ls. A central province displays numerous huge growth faults, as well as dis tributary channels and characteristic sedimentary structures. In both areas , widespread layers of debris-flows are present. Finally an eastern provinc e is the locus of intense active faulting. Important salt diapirism ascends along many of the faults.
