Three main structural and sedimentary provinces characterize the Nile Cone.
A western domain shows a network of tightly meandering distributary channe
ls. A central province displays numerous huge growth faults, as well as dis
tributary channels and characteristic sedimentary structures. In both areas
, widespread layers of debris-flows are present. Finally an eastern provinc
e is the locus of intense active faulting. Important salt diapirism ascends
