Abstract
The revision of the European Palaeomerycidae leads us to consider that ther e are only two species of Palaeomeryx in Europe: Palaeomeryx bojani and Pal aeomeryx eminens. On the other hand the genera Triceromeryx, Ampelomeryx an d Tauromeryx must be considered as junior synonyms of Palaeomeryx.
