Abstract
A protocol for production of somatic embryos was developed for mango cultiv ar Amrapali using nucellus tissue as source explant. Somatic embryo product ion increased when the nitrogen concentration in the medium, particularly a mmonium salts was less coupled with higher N-6-benzylaminopurine concentrat ion. Germination of somatic embryos into plantlet was improved by lowering the sucrose concentration and the addition of gibberellic acid and N6-benzy laminopurine.
