M. Ohl, The type material of sphecidae described by Massimiliano Spinola in the Hymenoptera collection of the Museum fur Naturkunde in Berlin, DEUT ENTOMO, 46(2), 1999, pp. 243-247
Putative type material of Bembix chlorotica, B. fischeri, B. lusca, B. undu
lata, and Gastrosericus waltlii, all described by Spinola, was discovered i
n the Hymenoptera collection of the Museum fur Naturkunde, Berlin. The poss
ible type status of each specimen labeled as a Spinola type was analyzed. L
ectotypes were designated for Bembix chlorotica and B. undulata. A paralect
otype is determined for Bembix lusca, for which a lectotype has been design
ated by de Beaumont (1952). The type status of certain specimens in the ZMB
collection labeled as types is rejected: the males of B. chlorotica, a mal
e of B. undulata, all available specimens of B. fischeri, and the male of G
astrosericus waltlii.
