Abstract
Cool samples collected from the main production ar ea in Argentina in 1995 were surveyed for the natural occurrence of Fusarium mycotoxins and aflatox ins. Fumonisins B-1, B-2 and B-3 and zearalenone were found in all samples. A positive relationship was found between fumonisins B-1, B-2 and B-3, B-1 and B-3, and B-2 and B-3. Deoxynivalenol and aflatoxins were not detected. Mycological survey has also revealed the predominance of Fusarium monilifo rme. This is the first report on the simultaneous occurrence of fumonisins and =earalenone in corn from the main production area in Argentina.
