Ecotoxicological risk assessment: An overview

An overview is given on value and limitations of current ecotoxicologial ri sk assessment procedures, in particular for the assessment of pesticide ris k for regulatory and management purposes. Experimental and predictive appro aches for effect and exposure assessment are reviewed and needs for researc h are highlighted. The use of risk indexes for screening purposes and their possible application for mapping ecotoxicological risk on the territory ar e also described.
