Abstract
A numerical method of calculating ion exchanged concentration profiles is presented. Two programmes based on this method have been implement ed. The first takes into account the Poisson equation (no simplifying assumption) while the second is based on the 'local electroneutrality' simplification. Numerical analysis of the results obtained through th e two types of simulations shows no significant differences corroborat ing the usual quasi-neutral modelling.
