Abstract
The redistribution of alloying elements during nitridation of the VT20 tita nium alloy was studied by x-ray microanalysis. A mathematical model was pro posed for computing the activity coefficients of alloying elements in nitri de phases. Comparison with experimental data demonstrates that this model c an be used to qualitatively describe the effects in question.
