Abstract
The optical absorption of short poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) polymers is in vestigated, within a recently proposed model of the phenyl - based sem iconductors, via exact diagonalisations of finite size chains with per iodic boundary conditions. The relevant dynamical correlations and exc iton correlation functions for the system are also calculated.
