Mc. Bernard et al., CHARACTERIZATION AND STABILITY-TESTS OF AN ALL-SOLID-STATE ELECTROCHROMIC CELL USING POLYANILINE, Synthetic metals, 85(1-3), 1997, pp. 1347-1348
An all solid-state electrochromic device (ASSED) formed by polyaniline
(PANI) and WO3 separated by a protonic conductor solid electrolyte, P
AMPS, is realized. Its transmission spectrum is checked up to 10(4) cy
cles extending from -1 to +1 V. The kinetics of coloration/bleaching a
re studied using Optical Multichannel Analysis (OMA). The roles of WO3
and PANI in the global coloration are discriminated. The influence of
the solid electrolyte composition on the coloration/bleaching kinetic
s, the change of optical density Delta OD, the coloration yield and th
e stability during cyclings are studied. A stable and useful device ca
n be realized with coloration/bleaching times of approximate to 30 s f
or Delta OD = 0.3.
