In this work, we report the results of electrical characterization of
phenylene vinylene oligomer based diodes with different metals used fo
r electrodes. Analysis of the current-voltage-temperature characterist
ics in different samples has shown that the charge transport is contro
lled by Poole-Frenkel effect at high temperatures and by hopping proce
ss at low temperatures. The influence of the polymer-metal contact obs
erved on the current-voltage characteristics might be due to the prese
nce of metal oxide layers formed in the interface region.
