Electron-spin-resonance studies of pristine, Li-charged and Li-dischar
ged carbon electrodes have been carried out. Different behaviors were
observed for those samples. The ESR line width of Li-charged carbon el
ectrode becomes narrow and spin concentration increases in comparison
with pristine carbon electrode. The spin concentration of Li-discharge
d carbon electrode is still higher than that of pristine carbon electr
ode and a new ESR absorption with narrow line width appears. A possibl
e explanation will be given based on the electrochemical data, SIMS an
d FTIR analysis results.
