E. Coronado et al., A NEW FAMILY OF HYBRID MATERIALS FORMED BY TTF LAYERS AND OXALATO-BRIDGED BIMETALLIC MAGNETIC CLUSTERS, Synthetic metals, 85(1-3), 1997, pp. 1677-1678
An extensive family of organic/inorganic materials formed by TTF and o
xalato-bridged bimetallic clusters is reported. These hybrid molecular
materials, formulated as (TTF)4{M-II(H2O)(2)[Mn-III(ox)(3)](2)}. nH(2
)O (M-III = Cr and Fe; M-II = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn), show layers
of oxalato-bridged M-III-M-II-M-III trimers alternating with layers of
TTF+ cations presenting, for the first time, a 1-D kappa-like phase.
The magnetic properties show ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange int
eractions in the Cr2MII and Fe2MII series, respectively.
