Abstract
Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus is an inability of the kidney to concentrate urine despite adequate amounts of circulating vasopressin. Pyometra, hypercalcemia, severe hepatic disease, hyperadrenocorticism, pyel onephritis, hypokalemia, hypoadrenocorticism, hyperthyroidism, acromegaly, renal disease, and several drugs can cause nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. Intestinal leiomyosarcoma may be an additional cause of nephrogenic diabete s insipidus in dogs.
