Abstract
In this paper the effects of light intensity spatial distribution on the de termination of rile position of a light spot incident oil a PSD with the ph ase method are analyzed based on the linear system theory. And two general cases symmetry distribution and asymmetry distribution, are presented. At t he same time, we also provide several typical examples of the above eases. As a conclusion, the spatially symmetry-distributed light source is recomme nded. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
