Abstract
An imidazole ring containing amphiphilic molecule, N-[2-(4-imidazolyl) ethy l] 11-mercaptoundecanamide (IMA) was synthesized and constructed into a Lan gmuir monolayer at the air-water interface to monitor the specific interact ion of imidazole residue with metal ions in the subphase.
